This review looks at Roborock’s S6 robot vacuum. The S6 comes in three colors; White, Rose Gold and Black Gloss. It can mop and vacuum at the same time without soaking your carpets.
The battery can last up to three hours and if it doesn’t finish, it’ll only charge what it needs to finish the job.
Smart Mapping and multiple cleaning modes make this robot vacuum worth taking at closer look at.

Features of the Roborock S6
Dimensions: 13.9 x 13.78 x 3.78 inches.
The laser sensors need a little more room to maneuver so the S6 is a little taller than some of the other robotic vacuums we’ve reviewed.
Dustbin Capacity: 480ml
The dustbin is a little on the small side but nothing really awful. If it isn’t picking up a ton of debris during every cleaning session, it should be large enough.
Water Tank Capacity: 180ml
Suitable for mopping homes up to 1610 square feet, adjustable for different floor types.
Brushes: Two
The Roborock S6 has a V-shaped rubberized long brush and a five-legged rubberized/PVC edge sweeper brush. This is a little different from the usual edge brushes. For one thing, the bristles tend to connect better with the floor which makes for better contact with dirt particles. The other thing is that there is only one brush mechanism as opposed to the usual two. While it should be a detriment it really isn’t, at least on hard floor surfaces.
Charging: Charging Station
The charging station includes a mat for the S6 to rest. The mat protects the floor after the mop has been in use.
Battery: 5200mAh Lithium-ion
The vacuum will run a cleaning session for up to three hours on one charge. It covers about 2,152 square feet.
Another convenient feature is the Smart Top-Up. Basically, if the battery power starts to run down before the cleaning session is finished, the S6 will calculate how much power is needed to complete the job and return to the charger.
Instead of charging up to one hundred percent, the vacuum only recharges to the amount necessary and returns to complete the session. It’s a nice feature since you don’t have to wait another four hours for the clean up to finish.

Power: Powerful 2000Pa
Automatic Carpet Boost: Strong suction easily lifts dust from floors, automatic carpet boost switches to full power on carpets for deeper cleaning.
Runtime: 180 minutes
It can negotiate transitional differences up to 0.8 inches. The volume is a little high at 69dB but it isn’t enough to be a deal breaker.
Cleaning Modes:
- Carpet Mode: Does what it says on the tin. It cleans your carpet. About 2,500 square feet of cleaning can get done on one charge.
- Quiet Mode: lower suction but good if you need to do some light sweeping without disturbing the room.
- Mopping mode: The S6 is a true combo machine. You can sweep and mop hard floors at the same time.
The water tank starts when there’s enough water in the tank and a mopping cloth has been installed. The mopping function won’t run when the tank is empty or the mopping cloth is removed.
When it comes to mopping, the S6 doesn’t just drop a bucket of water and start sloshing it around. It has a sensor that enables it to adjust the water flow for every type of floor.
- Turbo mode: This is great when you’re in a white tornado hurry. It races around, cleaning at a much faster pace.
- Max mode: This is for your high traffic areas and deep pile carpets.
Sensors: Bumpers/LIDAR (Infrared)
Using a LIDAR sensor array, the S6 takes Z-shape route to clean your home. This is mapping in real-time.
Anti-Drop Sensor:
There are six anti-drop sensors on the S6 vacuum.
Control Interface: Phone App, Voice Command or Remote Control
Navigation on the Roborock S6 is a little more in-depth than some other robot vacuums.
Besides the digital map reports that show the areas the S6 completed, it also has a “calculated cleaning” function that creates more efficient cleaning paths as it learns the layout. Zoned cleaning is also a big hit since you can name the zones by their “real” names, like “kitchen.”
This allows you to schedule cleaning times for each room.
Alexa and Google Home Voice Control lets you play your greatest hits cleaning list at will.
The App
You can establish No-Go zones so it won’t be rumbling into places it isn’t wanted.
The S6 can also save multiple floor maps so you can have it clean multiple levels of your home (no, it doesn’t climb stairs).
Warranty: The Roborock comes with a 12 month limited warranty.

Drawbacks
Deep cleaning the carpets isn’t really a strong point with this vacuum. If your family continually tracks sand into the house, this may not be the vacuum for you.
Our Thoughts
We love the app, the cleaning power and that interesting edge brush. We also like that you don’t have to switch up between sessions to do the mopping and vacuuming. The mop isn’t going to replace a good scrubbing, but it’s great for daily touch-ups and for picking up fine dust that you’re mop may leave behind.
The Roborock S6 vacuum/mop combo is a solid choice for hard floors, linoleum and tile surfaces.
