Attack of the Cuddly Fur Babies
If ever anyone needed a robot vacuum, it’s a pet owner. The best robot vacuums for pet hair will be your second best friend as they drastically cut down the time it takes to clean your home, leaving you with more time to spend with your fur babies.
There are some things that make one robot vacuum stand out from the others when it comes to picking up pet hair. Keep these points in mind when shopping around.
Smart Map. It’s a feature you’ll find on high end models. The vacuum will create zones through its AI and remember them. This allows you to designate areas that the vacuum should focus on or avoid.
Automatic Return. When the vacuum has this feature, it automatically returns to the charging station when its battery runs low. Even smarter ones will pick up where it left off (auto resume).
Suction Pressure (Power). Measured in Pascals (Pa) this is a good indicator as to how efficient the vacuum is at picking up debris. Measured in centimeters or inches of water lifted. Basically, it’s how much water is lifted by the suction.
Noise Level/Volume. This can be a real concern with pet owners. Noisy vacuums can be annoying to anyone but pets, with their incredible hearing, can be frightened or feel threatened by a loud vacuum. Noise levels are measured in decibels or dB.
Neato Robotics Botvac D7
A LIDAR (Laser Guided) vacuum. It’s a very efficient vacuum.
It has Smart Mapping and No-Go Zones It’s unique D-shaped design allows it to dive a little deeper into corners.
The large wheels mean it can take on a floor-to-carpet transition with a fair amount of ease.
The Spiral Combo brush picks up pet hair effortlessly.
It does need a little more head clearance than most robot vacuums. Even if it fits under a piece of furniture, it could lose connectivity.
Speaking of connectivity, this robot vacuum is compatible with just about every smart controller on the market. IFTTT (If This, Then That), Apple Watch and Facebook Messenger can all be used to control this machine.
All of these features make it a top choice.

iRobot Roomba i7+
This is the first robot vacuum with a self-emptying feature. The charging base has a vacuum bag inside. When the vacuum returns to the base, the debris is emptied into the bag in the base automatically. This makes it a super-star among allergy sufferers and others who like to breathe fresh air.
It has Smart Mapping and its voice control feature is compatible with Google Home or Alexa.
It’s ability to pick up debris is on par with a light vacuum.
If it’s only average at picking up debris, why is it so popular? The self-emptying dust bin and smart mapping at a price much lower than the iRobot Roomba S9+ pushes it to the top of everyone’s wish list.

Coredy R500+
A low profile let’s it get underneath the furniture. Not the quietest but the noise isn’t obnoxious either.
There’s no smart mapping but it does detect boundary strips.
We’re including it in this list because there are pet owners who wouldn’t trade theirs in for the world.

Neato XV-21
This Neato model picks up about 95% of the pet hair, depending on the height of the rugs.
It has great versatility when switching between hard floors and floor coverings.
It’s also quite forgiving if you don’t have as much clearance space as the manual suggests for the charging station.
Originally released in 2018, this is still a popular choice among pet owners.

ILIFE V3s
Another robot vacuum that lacks WiFi but still makes our list. It does have a remote control so you can send it where you want. The bin is a little small so we consider this is a very affordable option that would work well in a small home and especially in an apartment.

eufy 11S MAX (QUIET!)
Affordable and quiet, even when it amps up to 1300Pa, thanks to the brushless motor. It can sneak in and out of places other vacuums get stuck. Unfortunately, this low profile makes it difficult to navigate up carpets with deep piling.
It also lacks smart mapping and doesn’t recognize boundary strips or virtual walls. You can control it with the remote control that’s included.
It’s a good choice for hardwood floors in homes where No-Go zones aren’t necessary.
The price of the 11S and that it’s one of the quietest robot vacuums in the industry are the two main reasons that we’re including it in this list despite its lack of WiFi features.
Did we mention that it’s quiet?

Roborock S6
There’s a lot of love for the S6 that comes from owners of Siberian Huskies. Husky owners often feel like they’re dog paddling (sorry, we couldn’t resist) through a sea of shed fur. This machine is their life/time saver.
It’s quiet, has a long battery life, and moves in an orderly fashion…unlike many Siberian Huskies.

bObSweep Pet Hair
It has bump and move bumpers for navigation when left on its own. It can also run via remote control. It stands a little taller than many robot vacuums and can get stuck under low furniture. They added a UV light to kill germs.
The runtime is about 90 minutes. Edge sensors and there are a lot of video tutorials to help you.

eufy 15C Max
2000Pa suction power. WiFi and Voice Control. 4 cleaning modes.
No smart mapping but it does detect floor/carpet height and adjusts automatically.

iRobot Roomba 960
The Boost technology increases power when it detects rugs or carpeting.
It’s a little louder than most when it switches to carpet cleaning mode. A triple filtration system keeps the allergens from flying out of the vents as fast as it picks them up.
It also has auto-resume battery charging.
Because of the BOOST technology, this really isn’t the one to pick if your pets are startled by loud noises.
