Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos are Advancing
One of the more exciting advancements in robot vacuums is the ability to mop the floors.
While they can’t replace a good scrub down and waxing of your floors (yet,) they’re now capable of doing more than just pushing water around on the floor. There was a time when the robot vacuum was rated and the mop function was pretty much just ignored. A new generation of vacuums with a complementary mopping function is getting our attention.
What to Look For When Buying a Robot Vacuum Mop Combo
Changing Out Dustbins. Some combos still work as a solo act. In other words, you’ll have to manually change out the bins in-between dry and wet sessions. Be very mindful of hardwood floors. Some vacuum models have the ability to do a “damp” mop where very little water will be let onto the floor. This is ideal if your heart is set on running a robot vacuum on wood.
Accurate Sensors. Since you never know where the vacuum may end up, good sensors will be able to tell the difference between carpet and hard surfaces. This is vital for keeping your carpets dry.
Smart Mapping. This is a very important feature when running a robot vacuum and mop combo. You want to have as much control as possible over where the vacuum will function as a mop and where it will be running as a dry vacuum. Don’t take a chance and have cords around that could possibly get run over and get wet.
Long Battery Life. The battery runs out more quickly than a standard dry running robotic vacuum. It has to disperse water and clean it up.
Let’s take a look at some of the best robot floor washing vacuums on the market today.
Roborock S6
There are some things we may never agree on. How quietly the Roborock S6 runs will never be up for debate. This is the vacuum you can run while the family is still sleeping. It’s always a top five choice in the voting for best robot vacuum for pet hair.
There are a lot of nice features on this robot vacuum and mob. It does have Smart Mapping, it’s very quiet – your pets and the rest of your family will be very pleased. It has a surprisingly long lasting battery.
Notably, the mop and dry sweep/suction functions are integrated. It can tell the difference between mops and floors and cleans accordingly. That means you don’t have to change the bin out since it gets both the mopping and sweeping done in a single session.

ILIFE V8S
Primarily considered a very good vacuum for hard floors, the V8S does have a separate bin that can be swapped out for damp mopping with a reusable mop pad. There are three different mopping modes. It’s good for dry climates and beach/cottage areas.
It’s a smart little bugger. The V8S intelligently detects whether it should be in vacuum mode or mopping mode and will release a select amount of water.
Navigation is done by mapping the perimeter and then works in a linear pattern.
It doesn’t include smart mapping. Automatic mode detects the difference between carpets and flooring. It has a comprehensive remote control.

One of the pleasant surprises on the market. The Coredy R750 is an affordable option that holds its own when being compared to the big boys.
It features three different levels that it can dispense cleaning fluid or water. It also has auto detection of carpets, which is more than you can say for some of the highest priced heavyweights on this list.
The battery life/runtime changes with the different cleaning modes, allowing for even more efficiency.
A strong power suction feature makes this robot vacuum and mop combo a strong player in a competitive market.

Kyvol Cybovac E31
It has optical sensors for smart navigation which means you can also set up No-Go zones. It can easily fit under furniture with three inches of clearance.
2200Pa means it has significant suction power.
The self-charging battery automatically returns to base when it starts to run low.
The E31 can also be controlled by an app or voice control.
We haven’t reviewed this model yet but if it’s anything like the Kyvol Cybovac E20 robot vacuum, this is a model worth checking out.

bObsweep Pet Hair Plus
Always a favorite among cleaning professionals. This is one of the most popular robotic vacuums for pet hair on the market today. The Pet Hair Plus is the strongest model in the bObsweep line.
At 4.2 inches high, it’s taller than most vacs on the market. Expect the robotic mops to be taller since they have to hold and dispense liquid. It does recognize digital barriers so it’ll stay on track.
This bObsweep model has auto charging, cliff sensors and scheduling features.

Pssst! They’ve also been known to hide out at Costco
Roborock E35
It has a power suction rating of 2000Pa and a 5200mAh battery. This should be good enough for every day maintenance.
It’s a good combo for hard floors and medium-pile carpets. It has a very good navigation system. You’ll need 2.4Ghz bandwidth It does work with voice control with the Mi Home app.
Thirteen (that’s 13) sensors keep the E35 on track.
Mopping is competent for daily maintenance but it won’t scrub out sticky spills. It doesn’t have sensors to regulate the release of water – it’s simply a gravity-fed system – but it won’t heavily soak the floor.
The dustbin does double duty so you can’t dry sweep and mop at the same time. If you want to use the E35 as a mop, you’ll have to empty the bin and fill it with a cleaning solution.
