NOTE: As of May, 2021, this vacuum is unavailable.
This review will cover the D5 robotic vacuum by ZIGLINT. It boasts a large dustbin, 120 minutes of run time, self-charging and smart mapping. It does all of this at a significantly lower price than its big name competitors. Smart mapping is usually only found in robot vacuums in the high-end price range.
Let’s check out the bells and whistles of this vacuum and see if it lives up to its own hype.
Features of the ZIGLINT D5 Vacuum
Let’s take a closer look at what this robotic vacuum has to offer.
Dimensions: 13 x 13 x 2.9 inches.
2.9 inches height helps to keep a low profile. Smart mapping sensors are usually found in a raised section on top of a robot vacuum. ZIGLINT designed the DR 5 to keep these sensors within the basic case, allowing this vacuum to fit in low areas most smart mapping vacuums wouldn’t be able to squeeze under. It can navigate through and under an eyebrow-raising number of obstacles. Since it has smart mapping, it will get even better at navigation as it learns the lay of the land.
Dustbin Capacity: 20 ounces/600ml
If you’re using this vacuum every day, the size of this dustbin should be big enough to get through a session. There’s a HEPA filter already in the dustbin and ZIGLINT ships the D5 with a replacement filter included. HEPA filters should always be on your needs list whenever you have pets. It will prevent pet dander from flowing out the vent and back into the air.
Brushes: One roller brush and two edge brushes loosen up a lot of debris that gets buried even in low-pile carpets. The roller brush can be removed easily for cleaning. Two extra edge brushes are included in the package. A nice cleaning tool is included to dust off the HEPA filter (never rinse a HEPA filter). It also cuts through any hair that can get tangled in the roller brush.
Charging: Charging Station or AC Adaptor
The ZIGLLINT D5 has its own charging station. You can also charge the vacuum by plugging it directly into the wall using the AC adapter plug that’s included. A voice alert will let you know when the vacuum has entered charging mode.
Battery: 2500mAh Lithium-ion
A 2500mAh battery is never impressive and could be considered the weak link here. While the power is sufficient, the toll it takes could be the reason for some of the negative feedback this vacuum receives after being in use for an extended length of time.
Power: Maximum suction capability is 1800Pa. This should be plenty of power for picking up the usually debris found on the floor.
Runtime: 120 minutes of continuous cleaning. Two hours is a long time to do anything, much less run a vacuum. This should be plenty of time to sweep your floors. ZIGLINT claims the D5 can clean a space up to 4300 square feet in one charge and we’re not going to argue.
Cleaning Modes: The D5 robot vacuum comes with a mapping system that can operate in four different modes: Auto Cleaning, Plan Cleaning, Edge Cleaning and Spot Cleaning.
Sensors: The ZIGLINT uses Smart motion and soft bumper sensors to navigate your rooms.
Anti-Drop Sensor: The smart motion detector recognizes stairs by recognizing darkness as a drop-off. If your carpet has dark edges, it won’t go past that line. Likewise, if you have a dark-colored rug, the ZIGLINT will detect this area as a drop point and avoid it altogether.
**See the Resources section at the end of this review for a hack to avoid this problem.
Control Interface: Phone App, Voice Command or Remote Control
The ZIGLINT can be controlled with a Smart app and voice controls or a standard remote control that runs on two AAA batteries (included). The app can be downloaded from the usual suspects – Apple store and Google Play Store. You can register your device through the app to ensure it’s under warranty in case there are any problems.
Unfortunately only supports 2.4 Ghz Wi-Fi. Many routers support both, 2.4 and 5.0 so this may not be a problem and is actually convenient for not opening up needless congestion. In other words, YouTube won’t buffer while your vacuum is running.
802.11BGN mode, which doesn’t support 802.11AC.
You can control all of the basic functions with the app, including:
- Schedule
- Monitor
- Accessory status
- Error alerts
The Voice control is compatible with Amazon’s Alexa and Google Home Voice commands. Also note that you don’t need a cellphone or the app to control the vacuum. The remote control that’s included will handle all of the commands just fine. In fact, there are many users that prefer to control the vacuum via the remote.
As it starts to clean, it goes into Mapping mode. Any snafus can force the D5 to reset its internal map and it may start over again. If there’s a spot in your home that always seems to get missed, you can just run the D5 over there with the remote control. It’s usually easier to run a manual cleaning command from the remote instead of using the Weback app.
The ZIGLINT’s self-charging feature ensures the vacuum will head back to the charging station when its battery runs low.
Warranty: The D5 comes with a two year warranty on parts and a 30 day return policy.

Feedback on the ZIGLINT D5 Robot Vacuum
What Consumers Like
Many customers compare this vacuum favorably to their older Roombas, etc. One reviewer even said that this vacuum filled up its dustbin even after the owner had just vacuumed the floor.
The price point for a mapping robot vacuum was very attractive to a lot of buyers, too.
Drawbacks
Some customers who have owned this vacuum for over a year said that the battery just gave out. Others said they had trouble with the mapping feature and couldn’t get the vacuum to remember anything.
It will reset itself when the power goes off. As of this writing, there’s no way to keep profiles in the app so it doesn’t have to go through the mapping process again.
Our Thoughts
This is a very good vacuum for hardwood floors and tiles. How well it does on carpet is very hit or miss.
When it runs the way we think it should operate, it handles as much debris as any high-priced competitor. It isn’t very loud and it’s quite fast.
We think a lot of the mapping problems are due to the color of the user’s floor coverings and the stoppage could be the battery getting too much of a workout.
If your cleaning needs are for a fairly uncluttered floor area with little in the way of changing profiles, the ZIGLINT D5 Robot Vacuum is a great choice, especially with the smart mapping.

Dark Rug Hack for ZINGLINT D5
The thing that seems to be the most frustrating with this robotic vacuum is that it has a great deal of trouble dealing with dark rugs. One problem-solving owner discovered that if you put a loose bandage over the drop sensor, the vacuum interpreted all areas as light colored floors.
Covering it too closely and the sensor registered a malfunction. That’s why it’s important to keep the white pad a little further away from the lens.
Keep in mind that this hack shouldn’t be used if you have a need for that sensor such as a staircase. If you need a robot vacuum that doesn’t have a fear of dark carpets check out the Kyvol Cybovac E20.
